Introducing LNG Bunkering in the UAE

From Monjasa’s regional office in Dubai, the company launched LNG bunkering operations in the UAE in January 2025, marking a significant step in offering alternative fuel solutions to shipowners looking to decarbonise their fleets.

Monjasa’s Group CEO, Anders Østergaard, emphasised the importance of joint collaboration in establishing LNG infrastructure: “The strong support from the federal and local authorities and deployment of the first LNG tanker and LNG carrier are the first important steps in introducing LNG as a new marine fuel option in the UAE.” This move positions Monjasa as a key player in advancing sustainable maritime solutions in the region.

Monjasa started its maritime operations in the Middle East in 2005 and also became the first marine fuels supplier to deliver biofuels in the UAE in 2022.
